BUILDING CONSTRUCTION GUIDELINES
Building construction activity must follow basic principles so that the users can benefit from using materials, which have known engineering and technical properties. While undertaking construction, these established scientific principles must not be compromised failing which the quality of construction would be unreliable and the resources would be wasted at a cost to society as well. Access to such guidelines can be useful considering the fact that most of the construction works involve unskilled workforce and unreliable site supervision.
Refer to this section earthquake resistant construction; flood resistant construction; cyclone resistant construction; foundations; concrete and masonry
Earthquake resistant construction requires certain building elements to be executed in a manner that they respond to the earthquake forces without causing damage. There are two aspects of it. One is to know what these construction features are and the other is to construct them in a right manner. Material selection, material processing, sizing of the earthquake resistant features etc. are the critical aspects.
Refer to this section for the technical process of execution of earthquake features.
