EARTHQUAKE

Earthquakes occur without any forewarning and do not give adequate time for evacuation. One can only predict the vulnerable locations and this section helps in assessing the risk that one may be living with. Preparedness for earthquake can help make buildings safe such that the damage to the buildings may not harm occupants and they may evacuate safely. Evacuation preparedness needs understanding for rescue and survival options that one may have to resort. Finally, understanding of rehabilitation process helps in assessing the damage suffered by the buildings and the repair & rehabilitation activities that one may undertake to bring the life back as much as one can do with own initiative.

Therefore, refer to this section for Knowing your risk, Preparedness, Evacuation, Rehabilitation.
