DISASTER GUIDE
Disaster Guide presents guidance for building construction in areas prone to earthquakes, floods, cyclones and landslides. Guidelines are applicable for non-engineered buildings, as generally constructed by the building owners themselves using knowledge of local workmen. Although, it is advisable to seek guidance of an expert and this guidance in no way substitutes the need for such expertise. However, in absence of such an advise, adherence to these guidelines can be useful for individual buildings up to say, one or two story height.
This section also provides guidance on actions recommended at the time of occurrence of the disaster and steps to be taken immediately after the occurrence of disaster by occupants of the buildings.
