Road Safey tips for bicyclists and cycle-rickshaw-wala’s
Do’s
  • Use hand signals before turning right or left.

  • Stop and look before turning

  • Wear bright coloured clothes and reflective jacket, especially when natural light is low.

  • Install front, rear and wheel reflectors on your bicycle/cycle-rickshaw.

  • Use the bell while riding in fog or in the dark to warn other people of your presence.

  • Cross red-lights and railway level crossings on foot.

  • Follow traffic rules. Move only when light turns green/ barriers at railway level crossing are open.

Don’ts
  • Don’t ride within 2 metres of the rear of a motor vehicle.

  • Don’t hold onto moving vehicles.

  • Don’t carry things in your hands while cycling.

  • Don’t jump red lights.

  • Don’t cross when the barriers of a railway level crossing are closed.
