Road Safey tips for pedestrians

 

Do’s

• Use pavement for walking.

• If there is no pavement, walk near the edge of the road facing oncoming traffic.

• Wear light coloured clothes while walking when natural light is low.

• Use pedestrian crossings to cross roads.

• Pay attention to traffic signal lights.

• Let the bus/vehicle stop completely before boarding or de-boarding.

• Look on both sides of the road and cross only when both lanes are clear.

 

Don’ts

• Don’t walk on the main carriageway.

• Don’t walk while under the influence of alcohol.

• Don’t cross roads in between stationary vehicles.

• Don’t cross roads at road bends.

• Don’t use cell phone or headphones while walking.
